Hello, I am Lisa.

I am a wife, mom, entrepreneur, coach, trainer, and I’m here to help you.

I work with moms like you who are struggling to get their physical and emotional core back after having children-regardless of how old those children are now.

WHEN YOU ARE SOLID AT YOUR CORE PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, MENTALLY, YOU ARE A BETTER MOM, SPOUSE, FRIEND.

Then you start typing.

As someone who’s been there firsthand you may be thinking:

“I feel like I am not important anymore.”

“I have no time for myself.”

“I don’t have time to be healthy.”

YOU MAY PUT EVERYONE ELSE FIRST, BUT IT HAS TO START WITH YOU. YOUR SOUL WILL THANK YOU(AND YOUR FAMILY WILL TOO).

Speaking of my family,

AWESOME (and beautiful!) girls named Evie and Anna and Mark, my fabulous husband.  In our 15 + years as a family, we’ve had our up’s and down’s. My mantra has become,

“I have preferences – not expectations.”  Which is a hard thing to stomach for the Type A, TAKE CHARGE person that I am.

Much like you, through the years, there have been many personal and family moments that have challenged me and shaken me/my core; both physically and emotionally:

  • I have had many challenging “momma” moments where I wondered if I was really meant to be a mom to two (let alone a mom to begin with).

  • Many fights with my husband where I wondered if we were really meant to be married at all.

  • Setbacks in my work life that have made me question where I am headed.

  • Health issues that scared me to death.

  • Weight gains, belly fat and body changes that made me feel sad.

  • And, challenges and disagreements with family members that made me question who I was.

When challenging moment after challenging moment keeps coming at you, it has the power to shake you, even YOU, the “Type A, Take-Charge, Get-Things-Done Girl” you’ve always been, TO YOUR CORE.

Throughout these moments, in these moments, I felt like I had lost something…

My ability to rise above or rise and just “do it.”

My ability to figure things out.

My ability to step forward.

But, each time, as I sat there in our daughter’s bedroom, or with my husband, or at the doctor, or alone in my bedroom, or looking at myself in the mirror feeling tired, broken, and somewhat helpless, something eventually, comes over me.

Somewhere inside me I hear a little voice. A voice that drives me, pushes me, tells me that I can do anything. A voice that can be MUCH louder. Sometimes she gets quiet, but she is always still there, somewhere down in my core.

She always says, “You got this.”  “Trust your Core.” “Trust YOU.”

IS THIS YOU? HAVE YOU BEEN HERE TOO?

I think during a life change(s,) or just simply trying to live life, you can lose the sense of who you are, and, forget that it’s ok to take care of you.  I have been there, and I get it. It is important to have the courage to get help in re-establishing your identity as a mom, wife, friend and family member.

It is through my journey of all of this, that guides me in wanting to help you. I have learned some things along the way, and they could help you too. One mom to another. Just me and YOU.

Speaking of learning,

Through the years one of the big aha’s I had was that my health and wellness needed to matter too- not just my mind.  It started with body and weight issues in high school and college, then to the low fat, try every diet possible in my late 20’s and early 30’s, to having kids and then recovering from it in my early 40’s. Along the way there were some health scares, my hormones and gut health were all over the place, the number on the scale went up and down, and my sleep and stress were erratic.  Hello, Mom life! And, now the age “50” is a coming very soon!

From all of this, I have become a student of my mind, my body, my spirit, my fitness routine. This study of my own health, wellness and fitness, lead me to a career as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in 2013, a Certified Personal Trainer in 2016, and a soon to be Primal Health Coach and Yoga instructor in May 2020. While I have learned what works for me, and continue too…what I also learned along the way is this:

EVERY ONE OF US IS DIFFERENT.

Everybody’s body and journey to health is DIFFERENT. There isn’t one nutritional theory that is perfect for everyone. So much goes into it and it changes over time. What is happening in your mind, in your life and in your relationships matter just as much as the food and fitness do. It all works together. Through our work together we will discover how this all fits together for you-mind, body and spirit.

To me, this work is about you getting SOLID AT YOUR CORE.   You deserve it. Let’s talk soon.
